Why do we forget we're going to die one day?

The truth is, we are an immortal Consciousness having a mortal, human experience. We inhabit a physical form because we need it to live in a physical world. When the body drops away, we are as alive as ever, even more so. As we are functioning through the lens of human consciousness, and since human consciousness is navigated by the universal law of Reincarnation, we leave this 3rd dimensional world many, many times and are born into it again and again, as humans projected from the powerful expanse of our souls. As we transform this human consciousness, we spread and expand light through the creation. For this purpose, we are challenged to confront many experiences that are our teachers challenging us to finally see through the illusions born of the human lens and its egocentric sense of identity. Through those experiences, we incrementally awaken and ground a power of light into a place it has never been before. The human race is the material of lead our consciousness is turning to gold. Therefore, there is no such thing as an ‘ordinary’ life. All lives serve this majestic goal and process.

There is a reason that humanity thrives despite their forgetting of higher laws of existence and despite being indoctrinated with fairytales. That reason is that the power of our immortal life force is immense. It is the energetic language of our authentic self in this creation, and this language is whispered to every cell in our body and through every breath we take. It is called the “Language of Light”. It lends to us the feeling of its force and in this feeling, there is deep knowing of continuance of life beyond this world, even in a human mind convinced otherwise, and even if the ‘knowing’ is far from their own conscious recognition.

This grand truth does not register in the human conscious mind until one awakens their awareness of it. Still it lends to knowing that “death” is no real threat. Even in the greatest fear of death a human being can experience, the fear itself is a teacher for that person, and is therefore allowed so it can be seen as the illusion it is.

The energy of our truth, also gives us a feeling of our authentic natures, and it is fascinating that human beings seek attributes of that nature even wholly forgetting it is in them now. They seek after the freedom of their true nature. They seek after the love of their true nature. They seek after the wisdom, the effulgence, the power of self confirmation and the unity that their authentic self naturally has with all of life. They seek these things out in this world and define these things in many different ways, but the steadfast truth remains. In reality what they yearn for is what in the depth of their beings, THEY ARE. In this world, they are defined with such limitation, and are so deeply oppressed, that all of their time is spent in seeking to ‘become’ or ‘gain’ what they yearn for.

Simply put, our deeper knowing of our own immortality is exactly how we can live, build, create, seek out our dreams and look towards the future, even being told we are going nowhere but towards death. We KNOW this is not true. So we laugh, love and live. We even make jokes about death, and say “When I die….” at times lightheartedly. Yes we deeply mourn and feel immense compassion for those, especially children faced with “death”. But even through this we forge ahead to continue the act of living, to support and inspire others, and to further grow.

Despite the fact that we are made to forget about any continuance of life before we come again into this world, and despite the fact we are taught an atrocity the likes of a cold, dark decomposition of one’s self as an eventual reality for ourselves and those we so deeply cherish, we go on to live, love, laugh, learn, confront our challenges and courageously move through them, while ironically fearing the dark or a silly spider. Truly, how can that be? How can we do that? Where is the sanity in this process? Why even bother invoking the courage within to move through heartache and pain? Why? For whom? Why feel pride at accomplishment when it ultimately means nothing at all, and there’s not a thing left of it when the last breath is released? The very idea that the power of our love, our unique individuality, and all we have learned, desire to learn and strive for in life just ends, is, in a world of illusion the grand illusion of all illusions.

Many people incorporate learned beliefs of life after earth via organized religion. But those beliefs unfortunately include vast distortions of truth to promise that continuance of life. One must first be taught to believe they are sinful, lowly and diminished in self worth to benefit from the “salvation” and sustained life in some heaven or some hellish existence for an eternity. This has offered little relief in this world and little progression towards the reason we are here in the first place. Rather, it has served as a ball and chain, holding humanity back for centuries.

Then, there are those who follow in the footsteps of the aged old mystics who teach timeless spiritual precepts that guide one into exploration of deeper mind. It is here the truth of our immortality and our authentic nature awaits our recognition. We are lifted and transformed in the power of self knowledge and revelation of how the Cosmos and laws that govern it truly work, and who we truly are beyond these human forms. Those who have awakened to that crystal clear stream of truth, know the fallacy of the human concept of death, and that it is meant to be transcended by vision of endless life. They have had that dazzling mystical “AH HA!!” moment in which what they have always known, is revealed as truth. Well, of course it is!

Then there are those who simply accept that it all just ends. Even they do not wake up and sob all day in some corner overcome with the angst of their life force just ending. Neither do they even question how it is this is so. They simply defend their perception of finality and that is that. Even they do not realize that this is only possible because the immortal whisper within them is giving them leverage to do so, to play the roles of the ones who know they just die. In deeper mind, they know better, just like everyone else.

The survival instinct is powerful. Why, if it is ultimately defeated? Is it some joke?

No. There is no death. All of life is energy. Energy does not die. It transforms and expands. You go on and nothing is lost. This is the Earth chapter in the Cosmic School.
