Perfection is beyond the reach of mankind. Only nature can be perfect. If nature is not perfect, Universe will collapse. Mankind can’t be perfect. Because man do not have the control of inner organs, including brain. Technically, construction of the brain have to be perfect, because it is nature’s creation. But thought process are man-made. There is no perfect thought as such, it keeps changing. Man cannot get perfection through an imperfect mind. Further, man’s mind and body, keeps changing, in relation to weather, climate, and other environmental factors. These changes will also act against perfection. Desire for perfection will lead to mental tension, which will in turn open the door for depression and other connected diseases. Keep a wide gap between near perfect and perfect, aim only for near perfect.
If I was you I would take a real good look at what's happened here and take steps to leave perfectionism behind you. It is similar to what happens we someone learns they have to stop lying.
A compulsive liar needs to pull themselves together and decide why they lie and what the payoff is.
Believe it or not it is often the same thing INSECURITY.
If you can make most of what you do correctly and accept humanity needs a surprisingly large allowance for error. Then you will find a lot more happiness become free and more productive.
If you want to improve your life go for quantity and skip the little details. Good luck.
I think it has to do with the fact that being wrong and failing is frowned upon in large parts of our society today. And it's causing us tons of problems (Perfect! The biggest roadblock to better). It's often the case that we want others to be perfect. The waiter is not allowed to forget an order, a software developer should not have bugs in their software from the get go, the creative team has to come up with a new idea every day, ... There are a lot of people that put a lot of pressure on others to not make mistakes so we feel that we need to live up to that. Failure is not accepted and perceived as weak. Flaws are frowned upon. Making mistakes is human though and we need to allow ourselves and others to not be perfect. Learning and making mistakes are inseparable. That doesn't mean we have to go the other way and accept sub quality services and goods either though. It's all about getting better, not about becoming perfect.
